When will I receive my new EagleCard?
Students who have advanced registered for fall 2008 will have their new EagleCards pre printed and available at the recarding event in August. Please refer to the student link to the left for more detailed information and continuous updates.
Will there be a charge for the new card?
Absolutely not. The new EagleCard will be free of charge to all registered students and current employees.
How will I receive my new ID, and where?

What will be the changes to my EagleCard?
The most visible change will be the lack of a contact chip on the front of the EagleCard. The EagleCard Office will continue the use of chip technology, but is taking it a few steps further. The new EagleCards will feature an internal contactless chip that will be used to access student on-campus accounts. This will include student Meal Plans and the new BeakerBUCKS all-in-one account. By utilizing this tap-n-go contactless technology we will be able to better serve the student population of Morehead State University.
How will my new ID work?
Your new EagleCard ID will be utilizing contactless technology through an embedded IClass chip at MSU dining, University Bookstore, vending, laundry, copiers, student computer labs plus other locations across campus. Just look for the EagleCard BeakerBUCKS flyBUY logo at any on campus location and just tap-n-go.
What is meant by flyBUY?
To help the students and employees of MSU better understand where the new BeakerBUCKS account may be used we are developing a common logo to be displayed wherever the account is accepted. This logo will also be on the new EagleCard to show the location of the iClass chip within the card itself. You will be able to use your EagleCard BeakerBUCKS at any flyBUY location.
When will my new ID be activated for use?
The EagleCards produced in advance for students who are registered for fall 2008 classes will be activated when they are produced. This activation will include the declining balance system that handls meals, flex dollars and BeakerBUCKS and will also include your door access to your residence halls and computer labs. If you do not advance register by August 1st your new EagleCard will not be pre printed and you will need to come to the EagleCard Office, room 107, ADUC. Your ID will be activated at that time for the declining balance system but you will be required to also have it activated for residence hall door access if you have on campus housing. Computer lab access may take 24 to 48 hours.
Will the contactless technology also include door access?
The doors and labs will still be magnetic stripe and not be utilizing the contactless chip. There are plans to incorporate contactless door access in the future.
What exactly is "Tap-N-Go" technology?
It is the same technology that you may see at a local service station or business such as speedy pass or express pay. The new EagleCards will have an iClass contactless chip inside of the card with an antena that is also embedded and goes throughout the card. It is very important NOT to punch holes in the new EagleCard ID's because of this antena. If either are damaged the card will not work.
What are "BeakerBucks"?
BeakerBucks is the new All-In-One account that has combined and replaced the functionality of the Optional Dining Club, CampusCash and Express Club accounts which will no longer be available starting fall 2008. Please refer to the BeakerBUCKS link on the left of this page.
How will BeakerBucks work?
As a prepaid declining balance All-In-One account. Please refer to the BeakerBUCKS link on the left of this page.
Where will I be able to use my BeakerBucks?
At any on campus location where you see the flyBUY logo which will include MSU Dining, University Bookstore, vending, copeirs, student labs, laundry, plus MORE. Please refer to the BeakerBUCKS link on the left of this page.
How will I add BeakerBucks to my account?
You will be able to add BeakerBucks the same way regular dining club has been added in the past.
