Education Abroad

Experience the World

There are many excellent education abroad programs available to Morehead State University (MSU) students and faculty. MSU is a member of several consortia and has a number of collaborative exchange agreements with foreign universities. International study experiences include short (summer/winter/spring) or long (semester/year) programs, as well as internships abroad. Academic credit is available for most education options. Financial aid can often be obtained and scholarships may be available with some programs.

Also, our International Education Resources page provides links to additional sites with information concerning such things as preparation for travel abroad, travel insurance, travel advisories, health issues, other education-abroad options and government resources, such as the US State Department and the United Nations home page.

For more information, contact Dr. Sylvia Henneberg at 606-783-5288.

Education Abroad Office

MSU has a new study abroad office on campus. Our office is designed to operate as a one-stop-shop for students and faculty interested in learning about the education abroad options available to them through MSU. We provide resources and guidance related to scholarship opportunities and preparation for traveling abroad.

During the Spring 2017 semester, our office will remain in 350A Rader Hall, and is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

We encourage you to take a look at the program descriptions below and reach out to our office and the appropriate campus representatives.

Opportunities for Faculty

Faculty may apply to teach in the summer, spring, or winter programs offered by the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) and the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA), and they can take students on an Education First Tour (EF) experience that is linked to an MSU course. They also have the opportunity to apply to teach at Kyungpook National University in South Korea or develop their own MSU summer, winter, or spring programs. Faculty may, moreover, apply to teach and research abroad with the Fulbright Scholar Program during a sabbatical or leave of absence. For information and guidance, contact Dr. Sylvia Henneberg.
