GUIDE FOR COMPLETING ENTRY FORM
(Deadline for entry-February 16, 2009.)
***Please Read All Guidelines Before Proceeding.***
PLEASE TYPE ALL ENTRY INFORMATION. (If both of these forms are handwritten and we can't read your handwriting, we will not enter your student.)
You must be a member of KWLA before you enter the festival. Go to www.kwla-online.org to register.
Most of the information on this site pertains to the Morehead State University Foreign Language Festival. After you receive the final results from our festival, you will need to access the www.kwla-online.org website to enter your winners in the state festival that will be held on May 16 on the University of Kentucky campus. Remember there is also a deadline for entering your students in the state festival.
You must complete a general list of ALL entries on the form entitled, "REGISTRATION FORMS FOR KWLA FESTIVALS".
Please TYPE the entry form. This will prevent any errors. After completing the form, complete the entry fees page and mail these two forms (or email them to v.trent@moreheadstate.edu ) to Vandy Trent, UPO 646, Morehead State University, Morehead, KY 40351 by FEBRUARY 16. You do not have to mail your fees with the entry form, but there is a deadline date (MARCH 23) for mailing your fees. The sooner we get your entries, the sooner you will get a schedule.
You will need to access the rules at http://www.kwla-online.org/festival/festival_rules2009.pdf . Please check rules carefully. If you did not attend the festival last year, you need to be aware that several rule changes were made. If unsure about a rule or any other pertinent information call us, John Secor (606-783-2746) or Vandy Trent (606-783-2582 or 2185).
Instead of Academic and Non-Academic, the categories are now under Language Proficiency (Dialogue, Listening, Oral, Reading, Recitation, and Writing), and Cultural Proficiency (Art, Costumes, Chorus, Drama, Dance, Projects, Videos)
The theme for Videos is: "Let's Play: Welcoming International Guest." Videos should present a game / sport / competition found at your school, explaining it to a group of exchange students arriving from the culture you are studying. The deadline for Videos is April 1, 2009.
Your schedule for our festival will be e-mailed to you during the last week of March or the first week of April. For those teachers that are new, our festival usually begins at 9:00 a.m. and continues until approximately 2:00 p.m. Busses should plan to arrive between 8:00 a.m-8:30 a.m. to allow students time to find test locations.
Please send your current email and mailing address to Vandy Trent, at v.trent@moreheadstate.edu by January 31, 2009.
I HAVE READ THE ABOVE INFORMATION AND WISH TO CONTINUE TO THE FORMS.
