The Thomas and Lillie D. Chaffin Award
The Thomas and Lillie D. Chaffin Award for Appalachian Writing was established in 1996 to recognize excellence in Appalachian writing in all genres. Each year an award of $1,000 is given to an Appalachian author with at least one book published.
Nominations are accepted between September 1st and December 1st. Information regarding the nominee or five copies of a book written by the nominee should be sent to:
