The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is a service unit of the University that is committed to maintaining a healthful, safe and secure environment for all members of the campus community. The Office of EHS oversees the development and University-wide implementation of integrated risk management, loss prevention, safety and regulatory compliance programs. Assessments of the potential for loss to the University and the appropriate financial management of such risks are critical components of this office.The Office of Environmental Health and Safety ensures compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations and standards involving environmental management, chemical control, industrial hygiene, general campus safety and fire safety as well as overseeing the procurement and management of university property, casualty, and liability insurance and claims against the University and participates in the review of litigation.EHS is one of several distinct service providers within Auxiliary Services which provides goods and services necessary to foster the academic affairs of the University, support the University's administrative function and enhance the quality of campus life.
