Faculty and staff can play an important role in regional engagement in a number of ways. For faculty, it is a level of expertise and the opportunity to mentor our students to be successful. For both faculty and staff it is the opportunity to interact outside of the classroom that retention experts tells us is critical to keeping our students in school. Finally, it is important to model to our students the importance of giving back to our communities.
A college degree is a privilege that none of us should take lightly. With the degree comes a responsibility to share what we know and what we have. I hope you will help the Center for Regional Engagement continue to build a culture and an attitude of service that has been Morehead State University's legacy to East Kentucky.
