The opportunity awaits you if you are a Morehead State University student seeking teaching certification. You can complete an 8-12 week placement in a school in the Sunderland area.

University of Sunderland
University of Sunderland is a dynamic, modern university with high standards of teaching and research. The University is a teaching and research institution located less then four hours north of London. Approximately 9,000 students are enrolled in the four areas of Business Management; Education; Art and Social Studies; and Science and Technology. Student Teachers are assigned a school placement and critic teachers through  the University of Sunderland. Morehead State University will assign a University Supervisor responsible for a one-week visitation during the semester.

City of Sunderland
Sunderland is a breath of fresh air, with a stunning coastline and breathtaking countryside nearby. It also offers all the nightlife, leisure and cultural opportunities you'd expect from a major city. Sunderland is a historical area minutes away from Durham and less than an hour from the Scottish border. With a population of 300,000, Sunderland is one of the main urban areas in the northeast region of England. Although it is an industrial town, Sunderland is also a resort area and seaport. Northeast England is filled with beautiful scenery, Saxon and Norman parish churches, medieval castles and Victorian buildings. The city is surrounded by the Cheviot Hills, the Tyne River, the Pennines Mountains and the North Sea.

This unique educational opportunity is available through application to the Office of Student Teaching. Students must meet requirements for the professional semester. Applicants are interviewed and must submit their
application one semester prior to the professional semester.
