Friday, September 16 

6:00am-9:00pm Family Fun at the Recreation and Wellness Center                                
We invite you and your family to have access to our pool, track, gym floors, running track, ping pong tables and foosball table. All guests must check-in at the Member Services desk and those 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

9:00am-5:00pm KY Folk Art Center
The Kentucky Folk Art Center at Morehead State University is one of Kentucky’s special places. Located in the historic Union Grocery, the Center offers much more than a typical museum experience. KFAC houses a permanent collection of nearly 1,400 pieces of self-taught art.

6:00pm From the Earth to the Universe
The night sky, both beautiful and mysterious, has been the subject of campfire stories, ancient myths and awe for as long as there have been people. A desire to comprehend the Universe may well be humanity’s oldest shared intellectual experience. Yet only recently have we truly begun to grasp our place in the vast cosmos. To learn about this journey of celestial discovery, from the theories of the ancient Greek astronomers to today’s grandest telescopes, we invite you to experience From Earth to the Universe.

10:00am One World One Sky & They Might be Giants-ABC’s, 123’s and Science (young kids program)
Young audiences will be thrilled to find themselves on Sesame Street with Big Bird and Elmo! The fun begins when Elmo’s friend, Hu Hu Zhu, visits from China and the three stargazing friends embark on an exciting journey of discovery to learn about the Sun, the Big Dipper, and more. Elmo and Hu Hu Zhu blast off on an imaginary trip to the Moon and after they return home to Earth, everyone discovers that, no matter where we live, we all share the same sky. Following One World One Sky is a laser show called They Might be Giants, which explores our ABCs, 123s and science in an exciting way that young audiences will really enjoy.

Join us for the 6th Annual Morehead Arts & Eats Festival on Saturday, September 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Located on Main Street in beautiful downtown Morehead this festival has something for everyone. Before you cheer on the football team, join your Eagle Family of students, parents, faculty, staff and alumni for a fun filled evening! Enjoy a complimentary pre-game meal, family fun activities, and Kid Zone for future eagles. Families are welcomed to stop by the Family Association and Alumni Tent to receive great giveaways and enter for a chance to win door prizes. Please stop by the Counseling, Medical, and Dental Services tailgating tables before the game to learn more about your health, meet our providers, and grab some goodies!
