Homecoming is a time when we welcome alumni back to campus and celebrate what it means to be an Eagle. There are opportunities to reconnect with friends and classmates, as well as current students, faculty and staff. We're currently improving our beautiful campus, so check the map (/campusmap) for updates.

Monday, Oct. 15: Eagle Spirit Decorating Contest

Campus Offices, show your Eagle Spirit through our office decorating contest. Contact Student Activities at 606-783-2071 or to register. Judging will take place on Monday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. Sponsored by Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Tuesday, Oct. 16

McBrayer Lecture Series

Tim Thomas, federal co-chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), will be the speaker at the inaugural event of the W. Terry McBrayer Presidential Lecture Series in Government and Leadership on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 3:30 p.m. in Button Auditorium.

Eagle Street Art Show 

Students, showcase your artistic talents and decorate our campus sidewalks at the Eagle Street Art Show. Contact Student Activities at 606-783-2071 or to register. Judging will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. Sponsored by CAB.


Wednesday, Oct. 17: Campus Spirit Day

4 p.m. - MSU faculty, staff and students are encourage to join the MSU Marching Band in the center of campus near the Little Bell Tower to spread blue and gold cheer.

Thursday, Oct. 18

7 p.m. - Eagle Pep Rally (Academic Athletic Center)

Campus will be full of spirit! Cheer on the MSU Eagle Football team, along with the cheer and dance teams and the MSU Marching Band during a fun-filled Pep Rally. This event will feature music, food trucks and more! Sponsored by CAB.

International Observe the Moon Night

Join faculty, staff and students from the Department of Earth and Space Science for an international celebration of the Moon. Guests will have access to an array of telescopes on the Space Science Center Patio, as well as activities inside the building, and several presentations in the Star Theatre. This event is free and open to the public, no RSVP required. Time to be announced.

Friday, Oct. 19

10 a.m. - Memorial Brick Ceremony (Little Bell Tower Memorial Plaza)

Join the Morehead State community to honor deceased faculty and staff for their years of faithful service. Former faculty and staff who passed away during the last year will be recognized. The public is invited, and we extend a special invitation to the families and friends of this year's honorees. For more information, visit Memorial Bricks or call 606-783-2033. 


11 a.m. - Scholarship Campaign Kickoff, dedication of Smith College of Business and Technology and ADUC ribbon-cutting

Guests are invited to join the MSU Board of Regents and the MSU Foundation for a special ceremony announcing the newest scholarship campaign for MSU students. We will also honor the generosity of Elmer Smith (71) with the dedication of the Smith College of Business and Technology and hold the official ribbon-cutting for the Adron Doran University Center. Multiple MSU Alumni and Friends will be recognized during this event through the dedication of named spaces in ADUC. 


Noon - Tour of ADUC 

Be one of the first to see the newly renovated Adron Doran University Center. Both guided and self-guided tours will be available. 


5:30 p.m. - Homecoming Kickoff Celebration

Start your Homecoming weekend off with a warm welcome home at the annual Alumni reception. Join us at the Morehead Conference Center for a fun atmosphere featuring music, MSU trivia and prizes. Have your picture taken with Beaker and mingle with other alumni. Complimentary beer, wine and light appetizers will be served. This year we are celebrating the Class of 1968 (celebrating 50 years), the Class of 1978 (celebrating 40 years) and the Class of 1993 (celebrating 25 years). Special memorabilia from these classes will be displayed during the reception. 


7 p.m. - Homecoming Banquet   

Join us for a special dinner banquet as we honor the 2018 recipient of the Founders Award for University Service, recognize reunion classes 1968, 1978 and 1993, and induct the newest members to the Alumni and Athletic Halls of Fame.

Advance reservations are required, tickets are $25 per person. Purchase tickets online. Online registration will remain open through Sunday, Oct. 14, at 11:59 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 20 

9:30 a.m. - Homecoming Parade (Main Street)

Take part in a long-standing Homecoming tradition! Bring your entire family out to enjoy floats, marching bands and free balloons, as well as a variety of special entries. The parade begins on West Main Street and proceeds to the end of Main Street, near the Academic Athletic Center.

Campus and community organizations are encouraged to participate by entering a float. Participation in the parade is free. Prizes will be given for both the student and community organization categories. 1st place awards: $500, 2nd place awards: $250 and 3rd place awards: $100. All prizes are sponsored by the MSU Foundation. Parade Entry applications are available through Student Activities. Sponsored by Student Activities and CAB.

10:30 a.m. - Decades Brunch (AAC Front Lobby)

Reconnect with your classmates at the Decades Brunch. The brunch buffet will begin at 10:30 a.m., or immediately after the parade. During the brunch, the Alumni Association will recognize reunion year guests from the classes of 1968, 1978 and 1993. Additionally, Notable Alumni Awards and the Eagle Spirit Award will be presented to the 2018 honorees. The brunch is open to alumni and friends from all decades and President Jay Morgan will be in attendance. Tickets are $5 each. For more information or to RSVP, call 877-690-4483 or email

11 a.m. - Homecoming Tailgating (Eagle Rally Zone, AAC Parking Lot)

Look for the Big Tent next to Jayne Stadium! Stop by to mingle with other alumni, enjoy free food, drinks and alumni gifts, and register for door prizes. We also offer reserved tailgate spots. 


2 p.m. - Eagle Football (Jayne Stadium)  

Fill the stands at Jayne Stadium and cheer on the Football Eagles as they take on Valparaiso. The Homecoming Court will be announced and the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime. Tickets are available at the Stadium on game day and advance ticket purchases can be made online through MSU Athletics. You may also call 877-690-4483 or email    

Postgame - Alumni Dinner at The Rock (Rocky Adkins Dining Commons)

Join your fellow Eagle Alumni at MSU’s new dining complex in the heart of campus. This state-of-the-art facility is not your average college cafeteria.  Menu options include a fresh soup and salad bar, pizza and pasta, hibachi grill, southern home-style food, burgers and fries, cookies, cakes and ice cream… all for one reasonable price. A special alumni discount will be offered.  


Special Group Reunion Events 

Special Class Reunions: 1968 (50th anniversary), 1978 (40th anniversary) and 1993 (25th anniversary)

Cheerleading Alumni Reunion 

Saturday, Oct. 20 

The annual MSU Cheerleading Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Morehead Conference Center. This annual event provides cheerleading alumni with the opportunity to mix and mingle with Cheer Alumni for all generations. Alumni will also get to meet the current cheerleaders and coaching staff. A buffet dinner will be provided as well as a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased for $40 per person (children 7 and under are free). Event proceeds will support the MSU Cheer Program. Register online or call 800-783-ALUM.


Baseball Alumni Reunion

Saturday, Oct. 20
9 a.m. - Team Practice
11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Alumni Tailgate at Allen Field (water and soda provided)
2 p.m. - MSU Football Game (special recognition of the 1993 OVC Championship Team will take place during the game)
Immediately after the game: Alumni Baseball Game at Allen Field

  • Registration costs $40 per alum (price includes MSU Baseball pullover, ticket to the football game and food throughout the day in the home bullpen).
  • Family members are invited to attend the festivities. Additional game tickets will be available for $22 (adults) and $6 (children).
