Student Employment

Morehead State University's Housing Office employs a number of students for various positions throughout the academic year and summer sessions. Currently, Resident Advisor Selection is underway. Each year we interview and hire for 60+ RA positions on campus that are vital to making residents feel welcome on campus and in building community to make this feel like home.  Become part of the team!

The Resident Advisor must have the following professional skills and qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively.
2. Sensitivity to the needs of all residents.
3. Familiarity with campus services, polices, regulations, facilities and the surrounding community.
4. Capacity of responding to immediate crisis situations until qualified help is available.

The Resident Advisor must possess the following personal attributes:
1. Full-time undergraduate or graduate students in good standing with the university (financially, judicially and academically) and possessing a minimum 2.25 cumulative G.P.A. at the time of application. Please note that G.P.A. does not round up; any G.P.A. below a 2.25 (2.249 or below) will make you ineligible to apply for the position. Release from position and/or academic notice may be required for staff members that do not maintain the 2.25 G.P.A. requirement.
2. Candidate must have a matriculated student status with MSU (i.e. accepted, enrolled and/or currently a student) during time of application.
