  1. What is SAT or ACT? Where can I take them?

The SAT Reasoning Test is a measurement of the critical thinking skills students will need for academic   success in college. The SAT assesses how well students analyze and solve problems—skills students learned in school that they will need in college. The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors.

The SAT includes a Critical Reading, Math, and Writing section, with a specific number of questions related to content. Each section of the SAT is scored on a scale of 200—800, with two writing sub-scores for multiple-choice and the essay.

The ACT is America's most widely accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.

The multiple-choice tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science. The Writing Test, which is optional, measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.

Students who wish to take SAT or ACT tests outside United States need to go the ACT or SAT website for a list of testing centers in their countries.
