Laughlin/Wetherby Gymnasium

The Laughlin Health Building houses a large multipurpose room (with basketball, volleyball, and badminton court markings), five raquetball courts, free weights, a six-lane bowling center, a mirrored dance studio, mat room (for martial arts and self-defense classes), equipment check-out area, and sauna.

Wetherby Gymnasuim (adjacent to Laughlin Health Building) serves as the site for women's intercollegiate volleyball, classes, intramural activities, special events, and unstructured recreational activities. Prior to 1981, it also served as the site for men's and women's intercollegiate basketball games.

The Intramural Equipment Room contains a variety of recreational equipment available on a temporary loan basis, including basketballs, volleyballs, tennis, badminton, and racquetball equipment, table tennis supplies, horseshoes, weight-lifting belts, softball gloves, bats, balls, and much more. Equipment may be borrowed by presenting a valid MSU ID card to the attendant.

The Bowling Lanes are open to the University community for league, recreational, and group bowling. 'House' bowling balls and shoes are available for use by individuals without personal bowling equipment. A nominal fee will be charged for shoe rental and games bowled.

During the academic year, weekday classes are held in Laughlin and Wetherby between 8:00am and 9:00pm. Recreational facilities are available on a daily basis from 4:00pm through 9:45pm. Special operational hours are observed during holidays, semester breaks, and special events.

Use of the recreational facilities in Laughlin and Wetherby is available to individuals affiliated with Morehead State University. To gain access to the facilities during standard recreational hours, a valid MSU Student or Faculty/Staff ID, Dependant/Spouse card, Alumni Association card, or Guest Pass must be presented at the check-in desk. Only the person named on the card will be permitted access to Laughlin and Wetherby for recreational purposes. Guest passes for visitors may be obtained by contacting the Intramural Office during normal business hours.
