Assessment at Morehead State University
Assessment at Morehead State University is an ongoing process that serves to promote excellence in student learning, educational practices and quality of services through the use of results from measured outcomes. The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) provides leadership and support to the campus community as we strive to fulfill our institutional mission as well as our vision of becoming the best public regional university in the South.
While assessment at MSU is conducted primarily to improve student learning and the quality of services, our process of institutional effectiveness also enhances our response to many external agencies for accreditation e.g., SACS, NCATE, AACSB, and ABET. As part of this process all of the assessment plans and results undergo an annual review by OIRA and/or the Office for Assessment and Professional Development (OAPD).
Workshops on assessment and direct support in developing and implementing assessment plans is provided to academic programs as well as academic and administrative support units by the OAPD (academic programs and support units) and OIRA (administrative support units).
