Bachelor of Arts in Geography

A Geography degree with an emphasis on Regional Analysis and Public Policy offers students a variety of learning experiences:

A collegial one-on-one working research experience with professors who are experts in their field and conduct applied research on a variety of issues related to regional analysis in the following areas:

Demography
Producing maps of the area
Forestry
Water Quality
Emergency Management Planning
City Planning
Transportation

RAPP Geography majors have the opportunity to design research topics, conduct field work and analyze data independently and within a cadre of peers.

Through group and individual presentation format RAPP Geography majors may present researched topics and papers to cities, townships, and county governments, as well as to government and non-profit social agencies.

In the past RAPP Geography majors have presented papers at the Appalachian Regional Commission conferences held in Tennessee and Washington D.C.

Academic, field work and presentations under the aupices of Nationally renown professors has given RAPP Geography majors an edge in their application to the Martin School of Public Policy.
