A collegial one-on-one working research experience with professors who are experts in their field and conduct applied research on a variety of issues related to regional analysis in the following areas:
Environmental/Public Policy
Demography
Housing
Election Work
Urban Management
Federalism
Government Interaction
RAPP Government majors have the opportunity to design research topics, conduct fieldwork and analyze data independently and within a cadre of peers.
Through group and individual presentation format RAPP Government majors may present researched topics and papers to cities, townships, and county governments, as well as to government and non-profit social agencies.
In the past RAPP Government majors have presented papers at the Appalachian Regional Commission conferences held in Tennessee and Washington D.C.
Academic, fieldwork and presentations under the auspices of nationally renown professors has given RAPP Government majors an edge in their application to the Martin School of Public Policy.
