Customizations
To ensure timely implementation of the ERP, the initial implementation of Datatel was carried out in a modified, “plain vanilla” form. There are two types of customization that can be made to the Datatel software:
- In-house (performed by MSU programming staff)
- External vendor (outsourced)

Modification/Customization Requests
The Office of Information Technology Applications Services (ITAS) has developed a “Modification/Customization Request Form” to initialize this process. Please be aware that any customization to the software will be an ongoing maintenance and cost burden to the University, as customizations could be modified with each new release of the software. Modification/Customization Requests of any type (regardless of the resources involved) require the completion of this request form. This will allow for evaluation and prioritization of the request.
