PURPOSE:

To provide students with opportunities to develop knowledge and understanding of women's roles and contributions historically and across cultures.

To challenge students to use a variety of critical thinking and problem ­solving skills when analyzing issues related to women and gender.

To raise awareness of diversity issues students encounter here and in their future professions.


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: 21 semester hours      

 


WST 273: Introduction to Women's Studies (Prereq: ENG 100) 

 3 semester hours
 
WST 490: Integrative Capstone
 3 semester hours
 
5 three-semester-hour electives crosslisted with Women Studies
 15 semester hours

                         

New cross-listed courses are added yearly. WST 273 and electives must be completed before enrolling in the capstone course. However, it is permissible to take one remaining elective and the capstone in the same semester.
