To teach the Introduction to Women’s Studies (WST 273), a Special Problems in Women’s Studies course (WST 476) or the Integrative Capstone in Women’s Studies (WST 490), the faculty member must be affiliated with MSU and obtain Women’s Studies Faculty status. The faculty member must, moreover, follow the guidelines for each of these courses.

To teach a cross-listed course, faculty need not have Women's Studies Faculty status but must submit a cross-list proposal and sample syllabus to the Director for approval. The proposal must demonstrate that the course proposed for cross-listing will heavily emphasize feminist and gender issues. A list of cross-listed courses and faculty teaching such courses may be a helpful reference.

OBTAINING WOMEN'S STUDIES FACULTY STATUS:

To obtain Women’s Studies Faculty status, the faculty member must

serve/have served on the MSU Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies Program Advisory Council (IWSPAC)
OR
teach/have taught a course cross-listed with Women’s Studies at MSU
AND
be approved by the IWSPAC based upon an application consisting of a current c.v. and a one-page statement describing background and interest in feminist research, teaching, and/or activism. (Please submit to the Director of Women’s Studies at a.andaloro@moreheadstate.edu.)

It is possible for faculty interested in directing a capstone project (WST 490) or an independent study (WST 476) to obtain temporary approval of Women’s Studies Faculty status by submitting to the Director of Women’s Studies at a.andaloro@moreheadstate.edu a current c.v. and a one-page statement describing his/her education, interest, and expertise in feminist research, teaching, and/or activism.
