Canadian Studies in the Classroom

"Canadian Studies in the Classroom” is a Canadian Studies Online Program project designed to promote the teaching of Canada by providing a Unit of Study bank for elementary, middle, and high school Social Studies teachers. This site contains Units of Study written by Georgetown College Master of Education students as course requirements for North American Politics and Perspectives on Canada. North American Politics

North American Politics

North American Politics: Canada and United States was taught by William Green, Professor of Government at Morehead State University in the Summer 2004. This site contains the course syllabus, its Unit of Study assignment, and a  table of contents with links to four Units of Study identified by their grade level.

Perspectives on Canada

Perspectives on Canada was coordinated by Professor William Green and team taught by him and his six CSOP colleagues. This site contains the 2004 course syllabus, the 2005 course syllabus, their Unit of Study assignments, and a table of contents with links to nine Units of Study identified by their grade level.

Teaching Canada Internet Sites

The Units of Study provide a variety of opportunities to incorporate Canadian Studies into K-12 Social Studies courses. Teachers may use an entire unit, choose one or more lessons, or adapt units to fit the specific interests of their students. In making these decisions, teachers are encouraged to explore five Teaching Canada Internet Sites and their teaching materials.

We invite K-12 teachers, who would like to contribute their Canadian Studies Units of Study to this web site, to contact William Green at w.green@moreheadstate.edu.
