Special Collections & Archives
The Mission of Special Collections & Archives is to collect, preserve, and make available items that pertain to the history of Morehead State University, the local region, and the culture and history of Eastern Kentucky.
Special Collections includes the Roger W. Barbour Collection, the James Still Collection, and the Jesse Stuart Collection. Books on Kentucky and Appalachia also comprise the collection.
Archives is charged with maintaining the institutional memory of Morehead State University. Board of Regents minutes, The Raconteur yearbooks, photographs, the papers of President C. Nelson Grote, and the papers of President and Mrs. Adron Doran are a few of the collections housed in Archives.
Information for Researchers
Special Collections & Archives is open to researchers Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:15 pm. All other hours are by appointment only.
