The Real Estate Option is designed to prepare students for entrepreneurial and managerial positions in the real estate industry. The program is designed for undergraduate students and real estate practitioners with college level courses to meet the educational requirements for real estate licensing. The program prepares students for careers in appraisal, brokerage, consulting, development, property management, corporate real estate, and related areas.

Program Objectives

Students completing the program should be able to:

• Demonstrate mastery of basic real estate principles and practices.
• Meet the requirements for real estate licensing.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the role of real estate in the economic system
• Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the licensed real estate broker and sales person in the real estate transaction.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the various laws impacting real estate transactions.
• Calculate and explain sales and lease financial transactions in real estate.
• The ability to conduct market research, including the collection and analysis of data.
• Engage in appropriate practices of real estate valuation.
• Devise and implement a real estate property management and marketing plan.
