Welcome to the Office of Minority Retention Programs

The Minority Retention Program is dedicated to developing and sustaining an academic environment that embraces minority culture and provides a sense of community. Our goal is to provide services and programming that enhance academic and social life on MSU's campus.  We collaborate with faculty, staff, academic departments, and campus organizations to encourage and stimulate all students to high endeavor, community awareness, and positive social interaction.

The Minority Retention Staff strives to provide support and encouragement to all minority students.  Staff members serve as primary academic advisors to minority students without a declared major and as secondary advisors to minority students on academic probation, suspension, or other academic peril.  We assist students in formulating academic recovery plans, offer regular workshops designed to foster student educational development, and provide tutorials for all majors in collaboration with the Tutoring and Learning Center and Career Services.
