Biography
Pianist Chia-Ling Hsieh is active as a soloist, collaborative pianist, and piano teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the National Institute of the Arts (now National Taipei University of the Arts), Taipei, Taiwan, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Cincinnati, College-conservatory of Music, where she earned a master’s degree in piano performance. Her teachers include Richard Morris, Sandra Rivers, and Tsai, Chai-Hsio.

Ms. Hsieh is a winner in the First Youth Piano Competition in Taiwan in 1997. Since then she has performed as a soloist in Taiwan, Austria, and the United States. She is recently selected to perform the opening recital in the 2006 season of the “Rising Star” concert Series in Taipei, Taiwan, where she also gave a master class. As a collaborative pianist, Ms. Hsieh worked with conductors Xian Zhang (the New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra associate conductor), Ted Taylor, Michael Rosewell (the Royal College of Music opera director), and violist Catharine Carroll. She has performed piano duo recitals with pianist Michael Young, and has been invited by the city of Slidell, Louisiana, Eastern Kentucky University, Challenging Performances Series of Northern Hills Fellowship, and Northshore Music Teacher Association.

Before joining Morehead State University in 2004, Ms. Hsieh maintained a piano studio in the Cincinnati area.
