ABOUT PERCUSSION AT MSU
Directors / Staff
The Morehead State University percussion program is one of the most active university percussion programs in the United States and has been internationally recognized for its history of excellence. Course offerings include instruction in every facet of percussion performance. Students participate in three major areas: solo performance, percussion ensembles, and large ensembles including symphonic band and concert band, marching band, orchestra, and jazz ensembles. Many of the other ensembles in the Department of Music such as choirs, brass and woodwind ensembles, and small jazz groups provide even more diverse opportunities for the student percussionist. Staffing includes two full-time faculty, Professor Frank Oddis and Mr. Brian Mason, with additional support from graduate teaching assistants.
