Bio

Image - Gold Square“MSU is a great place for the experienced to novice dancers to learn, create, hone their craft, and become an artist within the field of dance. The MSU Dance Ensemble also provides wonderful opportunities for dancers to work with nationally & internationally recognized choreographers, perform on campus, tour within the community, and perform at regional or national dance festivals. Through a positive, energetic, and passionate learning environment, MSU Dance truly is artistry in motion!”

Natasha L. Davis, a native North Carolinian, is the Assistant Professor of Dance and Artistic Director of the MSU Dance Ensemble at Morehead State University. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dance has taken Natasha throughout the southeastern United States and abroad as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. She has performed and/or choreographed for dance concerts at colleges/universities, studios, theme parks, outdoor theaters, competitions, conventions, workshops, college championship games, and the NBA arena. In the fifty year history of Horn in the West, an outdoor drama in Boone, NC, Natasha was the first (and only to date) female “fire dancer” who lit up the stage performing with rings of fire. Natasha also choreographed and co-wrote her own performing street show, The Nice Girls, for Busch Gardens Theme Park in Williamsburg, VA.  Natasha is also a former dance educator in the North Carolina public schools and has been a guest teacher at numerous dance festivals throughout the southeast including the Regional High School Dance Festival (VA), the National High School Dance Festival (FL), and the American College Dance Festival Regional Conferences. A certified Pilates Mat instructor, Natasha teaches a range of dance courses including; modern, jazz, African, Afro-Modern, ballet, tap, hip-hop, dance composition, dance improvisation, dance appreciation, and dance history.
