A graduate of Butler Traditional High School, Lambert is the daughter of Larry and Pam Lambert. She has been on the dean’s list for eight semesters and earned a 3.923 GPA.

She is a candidate for a bachelor’s degree in sociology, with a regional analysis and public policy emphasis and an international studies minor. She has been recognized by the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminology as the recipient of the Outstanding Student in Sociology-IRAPP award at the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Award Convocation.

As a student of the Institute of Regional Analysis and Public Policy, Lambert has presented papers to the IRAPP professional staff including: “Elevating Education in Tennessee” and “Understanding Urban Patterns of Crime.” Also, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Lange, she and other students participated in the Appalachian Regional Commission research project, “Evaluating the Success of the NewCities Institute,” which resulted in a conference presentation in Washington, D.C.

She has been awarded the Regents and IRAPP academic scholarships.

Additionally, as a participant in the Undergraduate Research Fellowship program, Lambert has conducted research with Dr. Ed Reeves on “Social Covariates of the Gender Gap in 12th Grade Math Achievement,” which was presented at the Morehead State Celebration of Student Scholarship; and with Dr. Eric Swank on “Social Class and the College Experience Among Students in Kentucky,” which was presented at the Eastern Sociological Society conference in Baltimore.

Outside of academic life, Lambert has demonstrated a passion for serving others by participating in MSU’s “Spring Break, Spring Back” volunteer program, as well as her most recent endeavor this past summer when she traveled with fellow Morehead State students to Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, for a humanitarian mission trip.

Lambert will seek a Ph.D. degree in sociology after graduating from MSU.

For the commencement exercises, the grand marshal and mace bearer will be Dr. Layne Neeper, interim chair of the Department of English, who received the 2009 Distinguished Teacher Award.

Faculty marshals will be Dr. Frances L. Helphinstine, professor of English, and Dr. Dora Ahmadi, chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences.

Following the ceremony, the newest alumni will be inducted into the MSU Alumni Association Inc. by its president, Patricia Dorton Whitaker of Maysville.
