Greeks inaugurate leaders

Morehead State University’s Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Panhellenic Council (PHC) inaugurated their executive officers for 2010 in a formal ceremony in the Adron Doran University Center.

Meaghan Dill, Fort Thomas senior and member of Chi Omega sorority was christened president of PHC. Glenn Means III, Mt. Sterling junior and member of Pi Kappa Phi will lead IFC.

Dill said her goals were to promote cooperation among sororities and improve recruitment to better serve Greek women. Means indicated he plans to get more collaboration between all Greek organizations, maintain a stronger presence on campus, and promote a positive image of Greek life.

Jennifer Downey of Kappa Delta, a West Liberty junior, will be the vice president administration for PHC. Her counterpart on IFC is Christopher Melton, Hazard junior, a Kappa Sigma member. Melton will serve as the executive vice president for IFC.

Other members of the PHC include: Danielle Suit, Flemingsburg sophomore, vice president of programming; Kelly Morrell, Louisville junior, records; Cortney Conley, Ashland sophomore, treasurer; Sarah Caudill, Hazard senior, assistant recruitment; and Nichole Young, Huntingburg, Ind. sophomore, junior panhellenic.

Members of the IFC are: David Ray Gillum, Sandy Hook sophomore, vice president of recruitment; and Chris Darnell, Mt. Sterling junior, recorder.

Mike Esposito, director of student activities and Greek life, said he is excited about the forthcoming year. “The chapters have chosen outstanding student leaders. This will be a transformative year for both organizations and I am eager to work with them to bring about positive change.”

Currently, 650 students participate in Greek life at Morehead State University.
