About Us
Whether you're attending Morehead State to begin work toward a new degree, hone your job skills, or complete a degree program that was interrupted in the past, the Office of Non-Traditional and Commuter Students is here to help.
Before assuming her current position, Jill McBride was the Regional Campus Assistant at MSU at Mt. Sterling for 5 years and worked with non-traditional students at our center. In all, She has worked in a university setting for over 15 years in a variety of states. In her late 30s, after being inspired by the non-traditional students she saw returning to college at MSU at Mt. Sterling, she decided to begin working to complete her bachelor’s degree which she originally started 18 years earlier. In a span of 2 years, she completed her bachelor’s degree and graduated in May 2007 with honors. After taking a year off, she then began working on her Master’s in Adult and Higher Education, which will be completed this summer. As a tried and true non-traditional student herself, Jill understands the feelings that each of you are facing and commend you on your desire to return to school, either to begin a degree, hone your current skills, or complete a degree started many years ago…pat yourself on the back for making this important life-changing decision and know that there are resources at MSU to assist you in this process and help smooth out the bumps along the way.
