Question: Which nursing program is for me?

Answer:
The Department of Nursing offers programs in Nursing both pre and post licensure. Determining which program is for you is a personal choice. Time constraints, money, second career option, and planning for graduate school are some of the factors that will determine your choice.

Question: Will classes from other schools transfer?

Answer: Some classes from other schools will transfer. The MSU Office of the Registrar web page (http://www.moreheadstate.edu/registrar) has a transfer guide that will assist you in determining transfer credit, or contact Carla Aagaard Academic Counseling Coordinator, in the Department of Nursing.  Please call (606) 783-2641 with your questions.

Question: Can I take classes on the Internet?

Answer: To find Internet courses offered by MSU, select "Class Schedule" on the Office of the Registrar web pages. There are also several courses offered on the Kentucky Commonwealth Virtual University (KCVU), www.kcvu.org/kyvu. In the future we are hoping to offer more courses on the Internet.

Question: Does Morehead State University offer free courses for high school students?

Question: Does Morehead State University offer either the Certified Nursing Assistant or the Licensed Practical Nurse’s course?

Answer: No, but it offers the Associate as well as the Baccalaureate degree nursing programs. When you complete either one of these programs, you are eligible to take the NCLEX exam (the RN Licensure Exam given by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing).

Question: Does Morehead State University offer an online nursing degree program?

Answer: Yes! It offers the RN-BSN, an online Baccalaureate Degree Nursing program for all RN's who have graduated from an Associate Degree or Diploma program. The nursing lectures are online and the nursing clinicals are done with a preceptor in the area where the student lives.

Question: How much is tuition?

Question:  Where will my nursing clinicals be?

Answer: Your nursing clinicals will be at clinical sites that have agreed to have students in their facility. These sites may change from year to year, but are usually not more than an hour's drive from Morehead.
