Motorcycle Rider Safety 2010 Program - Ashland and Morehead
The Kentucky Motorcycle Rider Safety class is for non-riders, new riders, or someone wanting a refresher course. During the course, you will be taught to maneuver and operate a motorcycle in a controlled, off-street environment. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a waiver for the skills test to obtain your motorcycle license. The skills test waiver is available for Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia residents. Check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles. Most insurance agencies offer 10% - 20% discounts to persons completing the course. Motorcycles and helmets are furnished to each student. The course is a minimum of 15 hours. All classes meet on Friday, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. All classroom and skills hours must be attended in order to successfully complete course requirements.

Course Location
The classroom on Friday evening is held at Morehead State University (MSU), in 305A Allie Young Hall. A Saturday and Sunday skill riding is held at the MSU commuter parking lot beside the Heating and Water Treatment Facility on Hwy. US 60. Time

Long sleeve shirt or jacket

Full-fingered gloves with a vinyl or leather palm
Over-the-ankle shoes or boots

- Your own street legal motorcycle, (including proof of insurance and registration)
- Valid Permit
- DOT approved helmet (will be provided if you do not have one)
How to Register
- By Phone (credit or debit card only) -- Call Morehead State University (MSU) Continuing Education, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday, at (606) 783-2605.
- By Mail - Send your completed registration form to: Continuing Education, 307 Allie Young Hall, Morehead, KY 40351. Enclose a check, money order, or credit or debit card information. Do not send cash.
- By Fax (credit or debit card only) - Fax your completed registration with credit or debit card information to Continuing Education at (606) 783-9145 (not a secure line).
- In Person - Come to MSU, Allie Young Hall Room 307, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
Course Cancelation Policy
If you cancel a course prior its start date, we will gladly issue a refund. PLEASE GIVE US AS MUCH ADVANCE NOTICE AS POSSIBLE SO THAT WE CAN FILL THE OPEN SEAT.
No Refunds - Refunds are not issued after the start date of a course. Refunds are also not issued if you drop or do not pass a class. If you are unable to attend a course, substitutions are encouraged.
Low-Enrollment Refunds - 100% refunds are made for courses that are canceled by the University. In most cases, we will notify you in advance of a cancellation. Refunds will be processed as timely as possible.
