Kentucky Coal County College Completion Scholarship (KC4S)

If you are a student from Bell, Floyd, Harlan, Johnson, Knott, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin or Pike County with 60 college credit hours, a new scholarship may help you complete a 4-year degree at MSU at Prestonsburg. The new scholarship program is called the Kentucky Coal County College Completion Scholarship Program and will be available to college juniors and seniors, and non-traditional students seeking to complete degrees.

To qualify for KC4S at MSU, you must:

  • Be a high school graduate or GED recipient from one of the nine KC4S qualifying counties
  • Have completed at least 60 college credits at KCTCS or another public or private institution
  • Be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
  • Taking at least six credit hours of classes toward a bachelor’s degree at MSU at Prestonsburg (at least 50% of instruction must be face-to-face) - View degrees offered at MSU Prestonsburg 
  • Have tuition expenses remaining after any federal and state aid, including Pell, CAP and KEES, is applied 

Applying for KC4S 

  • Log on to www.kheaa.com
  • Register or Sign on to "MyKHEAA" located in the top right corner
  • Select "Apply Online for Scholarships- Kentucky Coal County College Completion Scholarship"
  • You must have also completed your FAFSA 
  • Application deadline is June 15, 2014
