Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

At Morehead State University, in order to continue to receive financial aid, a student must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress by completing a minimum number of the total hours attempted, and also by maintaining a minimum grade point average. MSU's satisfactory academic progress policy is as follows:

Undergraduates

Undergraduate students will be considered to be making satisfactory academic progress for financial aid purposes as long as the following requirements are met:

1. A student must successfully complete a minimum of 67% of the cumulative credit hours attempted. Successful completion for this purpose is defined as receiving a grade of "D" or better.
2. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher by the end of the second year (4 semesters) and each evaluation period thereafter.
3. A student has attempted no more than 150% of the hours required for their current academic program. 

Graduates

Graduate students will be considered to be making satisfactory academic progress for financial aid purposes as long as all of the following requirements are met:

1. A student must successfully complete a minimum of 67% of the cumulative credit hours attempted. Successful completion for the purpose is defined as receiving a grade of "C" or better.
2. A student must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
3. A student has attempted no more than 150% of the hours required for their current graduate program.
