SOAR
(Student Orientation, Advising, & Registration)
(FOR ADMITTED STUDENTS ONLY)
New freshmen or transfer students enrolling for the summer and/or fall semester are encouraged to participate in the summer Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) program. The day's activities provide an overview of the educational opportunities and facilities of the University. Students will also meet with academic advisors and register for classes for the fall semester. Your attendance at SOAR is the next step to becoming a Morehead State University student. At SOAR, you will learn more about MSU, register for fall classes, and meet other students, faculty, and staff who are excited to welcome you to the MSU family!
The Office of First Year Programs will host an Ice Cream Social on the evening before each regular SOAR Program. This will include a preview of the SOAR day and the opportunity to talk with University staff. You will find an RSVP section on the SOAR registration if you would like to join us.
Camp EAGLE - Do you have siblings age 6-12 attending SOAR? Camp Eagle will take place next door to the Family Session and will offer a variety of activities to keep children entertained. Events include pictures with Beaker (Eagle Mascot) games, crafts, and more. Each child will receive a Camp Eagle t-shirt and other fun gifts. To register, please fill out the Camp Eagle registration on the online SOAR registration.
A New Student Days program is also held during the regular fall registration period. All new freshmen and transfer students, including those that attended the summer orientation, are required to attend the fall program which will be held Friday, August 17th, Saturday, August 18th, and Sunday, August 19th. An agenda will soon be available on-line and you will also receive an agenda through the mail before the start of the semester.
