None of our teams made it into the finals this year, but all team will continue working on their sites and enter them in Oracle's ThinkQuest International competition in the spring of 2009. Creating these sites was a great challenge and winning a place in quarter or semi-finals is a huge honor!

Important Links - Just for You!
The US Dept. of Education recently completed the site www.college.gov. It is an exciting new resource that gives first person accounts of students who overcame challenges to going to college such as peer pressure, lack of family support, and financial barriers. Ir provides relevent, comprehensive information about why to go, how to go, and how to pay for college or other postsecondary education programs. If you've had questions about going to college or might not have been considering higher education this site will be engaging, imformative, and inspiration. It will help you create your own "roadmap" to college and beyond!
Kentucky also has a very useful website, www.GoHigherKY.org. It provides many resources that pertain to Kentucky students. For example you can logon and check the status of your Kentucky Educational Excellent Scholarship (KEES) Money, manage online applications to many state institutions, get detailed information about specific schools in Kentucky, request that your high school get transcripts to your selected colleges & univerisities, and much more!
Upward Bound is again participating in Peterson's My Student Edge this year. If you didn't get a chance to check it out at the October Return Trip you can send an email to upwardbound@moreheadstate.edu and we'll send you the appropriate access codes. Only Upward Bound Students can use this software. This program will help with a variety of test preparation, college searches, career searches, scholarship searches, resume builder, information on financial aid, advice on all sorts of college related topics, and much more! If you've already registered with My Student Edge make sure you use it to its fullest potential!
