Alison Ishmael, a 20-year-old junior at MSU, was very familiar with the University before she officially enrolled. Her parents, Roger and Terri Prass Ishmael, are both MSU alumni. When it came down to picking a college with a great education program, Ishmael said MSU was “my first and only choice.”
Currently, Ishmael plans to graduate in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and continue her schooling by earning a master’s in education at MSU. She hopes to become a fourth grade teacher so she can “make a difference in children’s lives.”
Ishmael chose to become an Eagle Guide in the Office of Enrollment Services in the Fall 2011 semester to better inform prospective students on the type of positive experience they will have at MSU, whether it’s the smaller class sizes, attentive professors or the overall kindness of the student body and surrounding community.
“I really wanted to be involved with prospective students and see their viewpoint and show them my point of view from the University and share the good things and what made me fall in love with the University,” she said.
