Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee

Morehead State University's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is a federally-mandated committee made up of faculty, staff and persons unaffiliated with the University charged with ensuring that the institution complies with federal policies safeguarding animals as subjects in research, testing and teaching.
All research, teaching and/or testing conducted at MSU involving animal subjects must be reviewed and approved by the IACUC.

IACUC Protocol Due Dates for the 2020-21 Academic Year

  • August 3, 2020 - Protocols received after August 3 will be reviewed at the September meeting.
  • September 1, 2020 - Protocols received after September 1 will be reviewed at the October meeting.
  • October 5, 2020 - Protocols received after October 5 will be reviewed at the November meeting.
  • November 2, 2020 - Protocols received after November 2 will be reviewed at the December meeting.
  • December 1, 2020 – Protocols received after December 1 will be reviewed at the January meeting.
  • January 5, 2021 – Protocols received after January 5 will be reviewed at the February meeting.
  • February 1, 2021- Protocols received after February 1 will be reviewed at the March meeting.
  • March 1, 2021 – Protocols received after March 1 will be reviewed at the April meeting.
  • April 5, 2021- Protocols received after April 5 will be reviewed at the May meeting.
  • May 3, 2021 – Protocols received after May 3 will be reviewed at the August  meeting.
