Hello, my name is Hannah Maness and I am a new Enrollment Services Counselor. As a recent MSU alum, I am excited to start my journey in helping students call Morehead State University home! I am a Menifee County native where I live with my husband Kian. We enjoy spending time outdoors, finding fun places to adventure to, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and bringing our two pets along for it all!
Education
Bachelor of Science – Psychology (2020)
What MSU means to me
Morehead State University has definitely been a home to me. I transferred here as a junior and it was the best decision I made when it came to my college career. The campus, the students, and the professors made my last two undergraduate years here made me feel like I was in a home away from home. I can’t wait to start giving back to the MSU community!
Favorite MSU Tradition
Sorority recruitment - It's exciting to see all the new members run home and find a sisterhood in all the awesome women who make up their new sorority.
Favorite building on campus
ADUC has to be my favorite! It’s a beautiful building that houses all the food areas on the central part of campus and it has plenty of quiet study areas for students.
Favorite place to eat on campus
Which Wich and Starbucks
Favorite Thing to do in the area:
Go to Cave Run Lake and grill out, and maybe go get some ice cream from Pop’s afterwards
Favorite downtown restaurant
Fuzzy Duck! Can’t beat coffee and books!
Favorite Mi Monterrey Order
Mi Monterrey is my favorite, and you can never go wrong with a steak quesadilla
Favorite Jimmy John’s order
Vito, add extra mayo
Favorite thing to do downtown
Visit the local brewery, Sawstone, with friends and get Rise and Roll Pizza
My advice for seniors
There are three big things I want to tell seniors:
- Work hard. You will never regret doing your best
- Enjoy it, it ends so quickly! Even though you will make tons of great memories in college this last year could be the last year you and all your friends are together.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff! Everything will always work out for the best! Even if your game plan completely changes when you go into college, that’s okay, just roll with it and always do your best!
Advice to students selecting a college
Look into all of your options. There is never any harm into applying for the schools that you think you will enjoy even if you might not be their top pick. Also, make sure they have what you are looking for when it come to classes, campus life, campus set up, professors, where the school is located, and anything else that might be important to you. The campus you choose will make your whole college experience!
