Aquatics

The Recreation & Wellness Center pool offers users 6 lanes of 25 yards to lap swim, generous shallow water area for activities and a whirlpool vortex.
The pool is available to all students, faculty/staff and community members at various times throughout the day. Please visit our hours of operation page for the most up to date pool hours.

Please be aware that the pool closes for inclement weather such as thunder and/or lightning. Our staff uses “WeatherTap” software to monitor the weather throughout the day. If lightning and/or thunder is detected:
  • Lifeguards will immediately inform swimmers they must exit the pool
  • The pool deck will be cleared and users will be asked to enter the locker rooms
  • The pool will be closed for a minimum of 30 minutes at each lightning detection and/or sound of thunder
    • The 30 minute timer will start once the last patron has cleared the pool/pool deck
    • The 30 minute clock will start over at each detection of lightning and/or sound of thunder
These protocols are in place to ensure the upmost safety for our students, faculty/staff and members. Failure to follow the instructions of recreation department staff could result in loss of membership/access to the recreation center and associated programs.
