Military Science

Military Science at Morehead State provides a curriculum qualifying you for a commission as a Second Lieutenant Officer in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or the Army National Guard. Traditionally a four-year program, Army ROTC consists of basic (100 and 200 level) and advanced (300 and 400 level) courses. In order to obtain commission you must be medically qualified, meet all pre-commissioning requirements (established by the Army) and complete a program of study for a degree (bachelor's degree or higher). MSU also offers a two-year ROTC program enabling juniors, community college students and others who missed ROTC during their first two years at MSU to qualify for a commission.

  • All ROTC classes at MSU count as elective credit toward graduation.
  • Cadets that receive their commission are awarded a minor in military science.
