Bachelor of Arts in Music

The Bachelor of Arts in Music major provides for the study of music within a liberal arts curriculum. This program is prepares students for non-performance careers in music and for certified teaching in public schools. Students study a wide selection of musical literature, developing the ability to hear, identify and work conceptually with the elements of music (rhythm, melody, harmony and structure). Students pursuing this degree are required to participate in activities of the University Chorus, Concert Choir, Concert Band, Symphony Band, Marching Band, or Orchestra. Enrollment in a concert or choral ensemble is determined by audition. A minor area of study is required for this degree.
