Bio

Dr. Lucille "Lucy" Mays is not only an educator, but a clinician as well. She has worked as a registered nurse in medical/surgical and acute as well as chronic hemodialysis settings. Mays currently practices as a family nurse practitioner at St. Claire Regional Family Medicine and at the New Hope Clinic, a clinic for indigent patients. She has an interest in chronic illnesses and in diabetes mellitus in particular. Outside of the clinical area, Mays is very active in promoting wellness in the rural community in which she lives as well as the service region by serving as a member of the steering committee of the Gateway Wellness Coalition and as chair of the Menifee County Wellness Coalition. She is also a volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corps and has provided care in that capacity following natural disasters.
