Morehead State undergraduate research submissions now being accepted for Posters-at-the-Capitol

Part of what has contributed to Morehead State University’s long-standing reputation for academic quality is the institution’s emphasis on students participating in undergraduate research. Once again, that research will be given a showcase to a noteworthy audience with the 19th Annual Posters-at-the-Capitol. The event takes place Thursday, March 5, 2020, at the State Capitol in Frankfort.

Posters-at-the-Capitol is an event hosted collaboratively by Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University. It provides undergraduates with the opportunity to engage in scholarship, research and creative work that is important to their educational experience and professional development while allowing members of Kentucky’s legislature and the governor the opportunity to better understand the importance of undergraduate research.

“Morehead State has a wonderful heritage in supporting undergraduate research and Posters-at-the-Capitol provides an excellent opportunity each year to remind legislators about the great things being done at Morehead State to empower student success in this area,” said Dr. Michael Henson, associate vice president for research and dean of the MSU Graduate School. “Our record in this high-impact practice speaks volumes about the positive way that our students are received across the Commonwealth.”

All undergraduate students engaged in research projects with faculty mentors at Morehead State should consider submitting their work to be considered for presentation. The deadline for online registration/submission is 4 p.m. EST/3 p.m. CST on Friday, Oct. 11 (no registrations/submissions will be considered after this date).

The link to register and submit your poster abstract online is at https://digitalcommons.murraystate.edu/postersatthecapitol/. Once there, click on the “Submit to Posters-at-the-Capitol" link on the left. You must create an account to register.

View the General Guidelines for Selection. Participants can click “Poster Presentations: Conceptualizing, Construction and Critiquing” for general advice on preparing a research poster.
