Celebration of Student Scholarship canceled

Given the COVID-19 situation and the recent announcements concerning the cancellation of spring semester events at Morehead State, MSU has canceled the 2020 Celebration of Student Scholarship scheduled for April 22.

However, students submitting their applications to make poster or oral presentations at the Celebration will still have their abstracts published online in ScholarWorks @ Morehead State (https://scholarworks.moreheadstate.edu/ors_reports_publications/)a service of the Camden-Carroll Library. This documentation of their scholarly contribution, under Reports and Publications, will serve as a verifiable citation of their work for professional purposes.

Although the deadline for submission of research abstracts was originally Monday, March 16, this deadline is now extended to Monday, April 6, in order to allow more students to participate.

As a reminder, abstracts must be submitted through the electronic Abstract Submission form located at https://coss-submissions.onlinescoringsystem.com/abstracts/new.

Congratulations to our students and their faculty mentors on their valued scholarship.

The Celebration of Student Scholarship showcases the outstanding scholarly work of students involved in the Undergraduate Research Fellowship program through oral and poster presentations to the greater campus community. Initiated in the spring of 2006, the annual celebration has grown into a day-long event of presentations, exhibitions and performances by students from the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Science and the Elmer R. Smith College Business and Technology.

For more information on undergraduate research at MSU, students should first contact their professors, advisor, department chair and/or college dean for advice on obtaining a faculty mentor in their discipline or visit www.moreheadstate.edu/undergraduateresearch.
