Service Learning

Morehead State's Service Learning program gives students a chance to serve the community while learning valuable skills that are applicable to their degree programs.

Through service-learning and engagement, students gain educational experiences that meet the goals of their academic courses, strengthen community assets and address community needs. Students involved with service learning are able to reflect on their experiences to gain a deeper understanding of course content and a broader appreciation of the discipline, in addition to improved critical thinking skills and an enhanced sense of values and civic responsibility. Participating faculty promote active learning, engage students with different learning styles, add new insights to class discussion, increase public awareness of key issues and help prepare today's student to be tomorrow's civic leaders.
