My name is Kristi Burton. I attended Rowan Co. Vocational School LPN program and graduated in 1995, I have been a License Practical Nurse for 25 years and been at the Caudill Health Clinic since 6/1/2020. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with the students and faculty at MSU.

Linda Dehart

Hi my name is Linda DeHart and I have worked at Morehead State University for 26 years. I have a Bachelor in University Studies and a Master degree in Adult and Higher Education from MSU. I am the Coordinator of Patient Services, Administrative Support for Counseling and Health Services. I will be the first person you see when entering our clinic and the first person you are likely to speak to when you call to make an appointment. Lakyn NewcombeLakyn Newcomb

Hi Everyone! My name is Lakyn Newcomb and I have been employed at MSU as the Patient Services Coordinator & Administrative Support since July 2019. I graduated from MSU in December 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in the field of Health Promotion. If you need to reach me, you can do so during clinic hours at my direct office line 606-783-2885. Travis MontgomeryTravis Montgomery
My name is Travis Montgomery. I graduated from the MSU & University of Kentucky’s Physician Assistant Program in 2011 after obtaining an Associates in Radiologic Technologies and a Bachelor’s in English at MSU. Since then I worked primarily in ER medicine for 5 years treating the full spectrum of emergent medical problems. I also worked for 3 years in Urology at the Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA and spent the rest of my time working with primary care services. Currently I’m happy to be the primary provider at my Alma Mater and living with my wife and 2 children in Rowan County.




Deborah BrownDeborah Brown
My name is Deborah Brown and I have been an LPN for 38 years. I graduated as an LPN from Ashland CTC in 1983. I grew up in Boyd County and now reside in Menifee County with my husband. I began working at MSU on the COVID Support Team in 2020 and have now transitioned working as an LPN in the CHS Health Clinic. I have thoroughly enjoyed my new role in working with the students. I look forward to seeing you this year.

My name is Barbara Ward. I am the building services technician for the clinic. I have served MSU for a total of 14 years with 10 being in Counseling and Health Services. My main focus is on the health and safety of the students and staff by keeping the clinic meticulously clean to meet protocols, standards and Covid19 precautions. You can always count on me for a smile, kind word, and positive attitude. Stop by and see us, we look forward to seeing you.


 


Counseling Center


Julia DahmaneJulia Dahmane, LPA
Julia Dahmane has been a CHS mental health counselor since December 2018 assisting students with any problems that university or personal life brings. Her prior experience includes positions as mental health therapist and behavior therapist at an adult residential/day program for brain injury survivors in the Lexington and Ashland areas, as well as working with all ages in a variety of settings for an outpatient community mental health agency in Eastern Kentucky. Julia is interested in depression and anxiety in college students as well as brain injury across all populations. Julia is excited to be a part of free mental health counseling in our inclusive and confidential environment here at CHS. Julia was born in Cincinnati, OH, grew up in Illinois, and returned to Kentucky for her college education because of her deep family roots in Eastern Kentucky, particularly Morgan County. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2008 and her master's in clinical psychology from MSU in 2010. Julia enjoys family life with an enthusiastic and curious young daughter, gardening, reading, and sharing her house with the family cat. 

Garla HartGarla Hart
Garia Hart is a licensed clinical social worker. She joined the MSU family in September 2019 to serve as a mental health counselor. Garla received a bachelor's in social work from Morehead State University in 2011 and a master's in social work from Walden University in 2015. Mrs. Hart has spent the last ten years working with children and families. Prior to social work Mrs. Hart worked over 10 years in the health care setting. Her experience includes: advocacy, addictions and rehabilitation, sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, and trauma. Mrs. Hart is currently working on her doctorate in social work through Walden University and is expected to complete her degree in 2022. Garla is married with 3 children and 2 step children and shares her home with her husband, 5 cats and 2 dogs. 


Sherry PorterSherry Porter, LPA
Sherry Porter joined the Counseling & Health Services team in July 2019 and practices as a mental health counselor and licensed psychological associate. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Sherry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Morehead State University. Sherry has experience working with diverse populations and a wide range of clinical issues. Her professional interest includes working with LGBTQ+ individuals. In her free time, Sherry enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with her family.

 




Goldie WilliamsGoldie Williams
Goldie Williams is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She joined the MSU family in January 2020 to serve as director of Counseling and Health Services. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of Kentucky and 1985 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. Mrs. Williams spent 29 years working with children, youth and families in Kentucky's mental health and child welfare system before retiring in 2018. Her experience includes: advocacy, treatment, prevention and staff supervision. Mrs. Williams is an avid learner and strong supporter of educational opportunities and achievement. In her private life she is a married, mother of two sons with three cats and a love of gardening, books and baseball. 

 

COVID-19 Team

Donna Rhodes RN, MSN
Donna Rhodes RN, MSN is the Covid Support Nurse for Morehead State University. She joined the Covid Support team in August 2020. She received her ADN degree from the University of the Cumberlands, BSN degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and Master’s in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governor’s University. Donna’s vast nursing experience includes: Hospital and Clinic Nursing, Hospital Quality, Patient Safety, Risk Management, Legislative Advocacy, and Nursing leadership. She is a life longer learner. Donna is married to David Rhodes; together they have two MSU graduate daughters, and 8 grandchildren.
