Move-in Information

The Office of Student Housing at Morehead State University is thrilled to announce a return to a more traditional move in experience for Eagles in Fall 2021. On what is likely the most exciting day of a new student’s collegiate experience, our campus and community will welcome thousands of students to their home away from home and showcase the care and commitment that we collectively share to ensure our students’ success.

This webpage is the starting point for students and will share important details to ensure your move-in experience is as easy and pleasant as possible. Returning students should visit the returning student move-in page for information about their move-in day expectations and process.
Welcome home, Eagles!

On Move-In Day

Move-in day on our campus will be an experience you’ll never forget. It is your chance to see our students, employees, and community in action to create a welcoming and fun environment for our students to thrive in. Though we make every effort to guarantee a quick and efficient process, as you can no doubt imagine, moving in roughly 1,500 students over the course of two days will likely result in some delays and/or unforeseen complications that may impact your day. We ask for your patience as we navigate this process together.

As a reminder, in order to make the transition to your new home seamless as well as your fellow Eagles’ processes easy, we ask the following:
  • If you were unable to obtain your EagleCard student ID prior to your arrival, you will need to visit the Eagle Card office in 127 ADUC prior to lining up for the move-in process.
  • Do not arrive early for your building, or your floor-specific time (if one is published above). You will not be allowed access to the move-in process and will instead be diverted to wait for your time to begin.
  • Limit the number of vehicles you bring to one. Only one vehicle will be allowed to access the move-in process on move-in day. Extra vehicles will be diverted to satellite parking.
  • As you arrive to your building, volunteers will gather to assist with your items. One person should remain in the vehicle at all times, and once all items removed, the vehicle moved to satellite parking.
    • The student cannot be the person that remains with the vehicle. They will need to check in, pick up keys, and direct the volunteer groups assisting with their items.
    • Vehicles remaining on campus will need to park in satellite parking until Sunday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. when normal parking restrictions resume.
  • After check-in, if you find you need items from an off-campus vendor please do not plan to return campus until after 3 p.m. with your purchases. By waiting until this time, you will not be routed back through the move-in process. Please park in satellite parking lots upon your return and utilize campus shuttle service to return to your hall.
  • Attend your first floor meeting on your move-in day. Location and times will be communicated closer to your arrival via multiple methods.
