Once you are given access to your space you are not required to stay on campus, and some students will likely move in and then head back home until the first days of classes. Keep in mind that once you check in to the space, it is your responsibility and MSU is not responsible for loss or damage that may occur if you leave for long periods of time.
Once you have removed all items from your vehicle and before you actually settle in, you need to relocate your vehicle to satellite parking. Students can park in the Dining Commons Parking Garage, either side of the US 60 Lot, the AZ lot behind the BCM, the S lot across University Blvd from Laughlin, or the S lots behind Fields and Ginger. ALL SPACES AROUND THE RESIDENCE HALLS MUST REMAIN CLEAR FOR ALL OF MOVE IN OR VEHICLES WILL BE TICKETED & TOWED.
When students arrive at the residence halls, they will see modifications to the residential spaces including common area furniture removal and distancing, shields at desk areas, sanitation stations, floor markings for social distancing, and other various operational adjustments to assist with a safe and healthy living environment. Residential students will be provided with cleaning resources to keep their room clean and common areas and high touch points will see increased frequency cleaning. Please visit for additional efforts for Fall 2020.
While moving in it is important to maintain social distance, wear a face mask, and frequently wash hands and use sanitizer when possible. Please limit helpers to the limit of two people, and ensure that before anyone arrives on campus, they are not feeling ill and their temperature is not elevated.
