Winter Session Tutoring Information

Winter Session Online Tutoring at MSU
Dec. 10, 2018 – January 7, 2019

The Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) can help you become a successful graduate of MSU. Tutoring services are provided FREE of charge. Winter Session consists of only online course offerings.  As such, winter session tutoring can be conducted in a variety of ways ranging from email correspondence for answering of basic questions to phone tutoring sessions, WebEx (video/audio conferencing), and even face-to-face meeting on campus (during times when the Camden-Carroll Library is open).  You will contact a tutor directly (via email) to determine what means and to schedule a “meeting” over the Winter Session. Students will NOT use TutorTrac during Winter Session to schedule their tutoring appointments.

Depending upon your circumstances, the tutor will work with you through email, telephone, WebEX, text messages, Skype, or other means. You and the tutor can determine the best means of contact.

Tutors will not help you while you are taking online tests or quizzes. They may help you prepare for your tests or quizzes and also assist with understanding of concepts.

During Winter Session, you cannot make appointments through TutorTrac.  Contact tutors through their email addresses above.

Tutors will not be available on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

NOTE: Writing tutors will help with writing, but they may not be able to tutor specific content for your particular course. Writing tutors will not edit or rewrite papers. You are responsible for writing and editing your own papers.  If you have specific writing or editing questions, contact the tutor.
