Supplier Diversity

Morehead State University encourages diverse suppliers to participate in our procurement processes. Data to identify potential diverse suppliers is collected during the online registration process for the online plan room and from vendors when establishing vendor records so purchase orders and payments can be issued.
Morehead State University uses the Small Business Administration business classifications to classify our suppliers. Those classifications are summarized below:
  • Minority Business Enterprise (MBE): those in which at least 51 percent of the company is held by one or more African-Americans, Hispanic, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, Asian Indian Americans, and other groups as defined by Federal law.
  • Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE): those in which one or more women own and control at least 51 percent of the company.
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE): owned and controlled by at least one differently-abled, socially or economically disadvantaged individual.
  • Veteran Owned Business (VBE): at least 51 percent owned and operated by a service veteran.
  • Disabled Veteran-Owned (DVOB): at least 51 percent owned and operated by a service veteran with a service-related disability of at least 10 percent.

If you meet any of the definitions above, we encourage you to create an account on MSU's plan room by visiting www.moreheadstatebids.com.
