Jesse Wells has taught courses at the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music since the year 2000 when the Center was formed. He is responsible for The Traditional Music Archives and the Recording Studio.
Jesse has performed with many internationally known traditional music artists including Dr. Ralph Stanley, Town Mountain, The Wooks, and Dirk Powell at venues such as The Ferguson Center for the Arts, Newport News, Virginia, The INB Performing Arts Center, Spokane, Washington, The Kentucky Center for the Arts, Louisville, Kentucky, and music festivals such as MerleFest, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Manchester Tennessee, Red Rock Amphitheater, Morrison, Colorado. International tours include appearances in Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, England, Pakistan, The Netherlands, Celtic Connections in Glasgow, Scotland, Northern Circle Bluegrass Festival, Alberta, Canada, and many concert tours across Ireland. 

He is currently a member of Tyler Childers and the Foodstamps.

He has taught at the Festival of American Fiddle tunes, Port Townsend, WA; The Swannanoa Gathering, Black Mountain, NC; Appalshop, Whitesburg, KY; and the Old Town School of Folk Music's Oldtime Festival, Chicago IL. and serves annually as a staff member of the Cowan Creek Mountain Music School, Cowan, KY.
Performances on internationally syndicated radio and television programs include Track By Track with Kyle Cantrell on XM, The WoodSong Old Time Radio Hour, Red Barn Radio, Americana Crossroads and a feature spot on the BBC. For many years, Jesse hosted a traditional music series, "Pickin' Parlor" on Morehead State Public Radio - WMKY 90.3FM ( and is an accomplished recording artist, engineer and producer.
